Every person - regardless of ability - deserves access to evidence-based, compassionate care. I lead with relationship, work with integrity, and hold to the highest standards of clinical fidelity.
I am grounded in the conviction that skills can be learned, capacity can grow, and dignity is non-negotiable.

I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches - including DBT and The Skills System - and work with each client to find the best therapeutic fit. I am trauma informed and recognize that many individuals have histories that deserve to be understood, not pathologized.

Every person I work with is the expert on their own life. I take time to understand each client's unique strengths, preferences, and goals. I collaborate with clients, families, and care teams to build a plan that reflects what matters most to the individual.

Meaningful change happens inside a trustring relationship. Before I build skills, I build connection - with clients, families, and the care teams around them. A strong therapeutic alliance isn't just a nice-to-have; it's the foundation from which we build.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) #28586 in the Sacramento area with over 25 years experience in the behavioral health field. I have spent the last 7 years running a Community Crisis Home, supporting individuals with severe mental and behavioral crises reconnect with their communities.
I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and recently certifed as a Skills System Instructor.
I founded Burton Clinical Services to bring high-quality, evidence-based mental health support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities - a community I believe is underserved.
This work is also personal. As a parent of a child with disabilities, I bring both professional expertise and lived family experience to everything I do.
I provide a range of person centered, trauma informed services including individual and group therapy, skills training, staff consultation, and behavior support planning - working not just with the individuals I serve, but with the teams around them.
